 Anaheim Ducks tie vis-a-vis LA Kings in Stanley Cup opener
  
 

  
 In defending its Stanley Cup championship, the Anaheim Ducks prevailed 4-1 over the LA Kings in the second game of the NHL season premier Sunday at the O2 in London - the very first time an NHL game was held outside North America. In an earlier statement, the NHL said this season's two game opener was held in London in ode to the place where hockey was invented - England. Corey Perry, Chris Kunitz and Travis Moen scored a total of four goals for the team. Congratulations!

 This year, NHL pays homage to hockey's roots - England by kicking off the 2007-08 season on Saturday (September 29, 2007) at the O2 Arena in London. The first game will be a match between Stanley Cup defending champions Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings. Let the games begin!

 Stanley Cup visits Ontario town
  
 

  
 The Stanley Cup visited this unassuming quiet town of 5,000 August 12 to the door of Almonte native Kent Huskins. Huskins happened to be the defenseman of this year's NHL champion Anaheim Ducks and tradition insists that the Stanley Cup be in possession to each of the players for one day. Almonte residents highlighted the visit with a barbecue party.
